The goal of the Pearson Medical Technologies’ design team was to bring familiar technology into the 21st Century. We believe we have exceeded our goals. The iPack® Rx Unit Dose Packager is easy to install and even easier to use.
First and foremost we have increased user safety by putting doors on the packager. The packager halts packaging operations when the doors are opened. Next, we redesigned the loading of packaging material so that it takes about 20 seconds to replace the packaging material. Another feature that comes standard on the packager is the built in bar code verifier. As each unit dose package moves through the packager, the bar code on the package is scanned to verify that the bar code is correct and scanable. This will reduce scanning errors at the patient’s bedside. The bar code verifier can read linear and 2D bar codes such as Aztec or Data Matrix.
The iPack® Rx incorporates a universal pill disk that packages up to 48 pills per minute. The iPack® Rx is small and lightweight. Because it is so easy to use, it can installed by any pharmacy member.
