:

SECURITY AND CONTROL:

  • Provides security for each logon by requiring User ID and passwords.
  • Allows administrator to track use by user for each interaction.
  • Allows for unique user defined passwords to access system.
  • Allows for different security levels for multiple users to protect the integrity of the system.
  • Has the ability to generate bar codes in several different symbologies on packages.
  • Utilizes Scan and Print technology to input drug-specific information to reduce labeling errors.
  • Complete back up of all data in database.

LABELING:

  • Customizable label formats including drug name, strength, lot and expiration date, font variation, control symbol, bar coding, and other information.
  • Print empty sample label packages for pharmacist approval.
  • Bold lettering or scalable fonts to enhance patient safety initiatives.
  • Indicates when fonts/characters per line exceed print area and abbreviations will be enacted.
  • Print text and font is readable against the package material.
  • Data fields to accommodate lot numbers and expiration dates in multiple formats.
  • Adjust label print position on package.
  • Number packages sequentially for narcotics.
  • Label has adequate space for, and able to include multiple bar codes.
  • Prints high resolution labels with multiple fonts, graphics and all popular bar code symbologies

PACKAGING:

  • At least one side of the package provides an ability to conduct an adequate visual product check.
  • Different colored print ribbon available for high alert drugs.
  • Package can easily be opened at bedside without need for tools, e.g. scissors or mechanical assistance.
  • Multiple package sizes available.
  • Packages meet USP requirements for 1-year dating for most oral solid medications.

REPORTS:

  • Generate tracking reports of lot numbers and expiration dates
  • Generate reports on-line or exported to another program such as Excel, Access, etc.
  • Generate reports on the number of times specific drugs have been packaged.
  • Generate expiration date reports for drugs packaged by system.
  • Generate volume reports per drug (quantity packaged).
  • Generate daily log reports, identifying technician conducting packaging run, what drug was packaged, amount of drug packaged, etc.

MAINTENANCE:

  • Provides documentation for maintenance procedures and technical support, which includes preventative maintenance, on-going service maintenance contracts, and on-going system support.
  • On-site maintenance by either pharmacy or facilities staff to provide service that would not affect the warranty.  (Trained by PMT Technician.)
  • Provides appropriate devices and tools for cleaning procedures and maintenance.
